Circe: the Kore of Aiaia.

In the Greek myth of Odyssey, Circe is a goddess (or sometimes a nymph or sorceress) who had an extensive understanding of the herbs and magic necessary for potions. Her story crosses paths with many of the most famous figures in all of mythology!

Painting: John William Waterhouse, 'Circe Invidiosa', 1892.
